We processed over $17T in stablecoin volume across 26 local currencies and 17 countries. We became the #1 onchain venue for BTC spot trading. We launched and grew the Base App in 140+ countries. We funded 50+ teams through Base Batches and saw new crypto native markets emerge across creators, predictions, perpetuals, and more.

Across all of this, one thing became clear: the current stage of crypto is upgrading the financial system, connecting the world in a global economy. Stablecoins are becoming fast, free, global money used by hundreds of millions of people. Any asset — stock, currencies, predictions, protocol tokens, art, startup equity — can now be tokenized, traded, settled, and built on top of by anyone, anywhere, 24/7. Prediction markets are letting people put skin in the game on what they believe. And AI agents are discovering these markets as their native economy, building, owning, and trading alongside us.

1. Upgrade the chain for markets: purpose-built market infrastructure at the chain level, new ERCs for smart accounts and tokens, and scaling to maintain sub-second settlement at sub-cent cost

2. Bring every major asset and market to Base: equities, commodities, and every major asset class, in every market structure: native issuance, tokenization, predictions, perpetuals, spot

3. Make Base App the trusted place to trade everything, available everywhere: trade millions of assets 24/7, discover what’s trending from friends and top traders, and grow your wealth

Scaling payments and stablecoins 

Stablecoins are becoming the money layer of the internet — $17T in volume on Base last year and growing. Base is building the rails to make stablecoin payments low-cost, instant, private, and available everywhere.

1. Upgrade the chain for payments: privacy primitives, native account abstraction and stablecoin gas payments, and protocol-level support for memos, policies, and rewards.

2. Create the most liquid markets for stablecoins: quality stablecoins for every currency in the world with easy to access liquidity for trading, borrowing, and lending 

3. Make Base App the easiest way to save, spend, and pay anyone: earn yield on your USDC, spend it anywhere, and borrow against your wealth.

Be the home for builders

The global economy is a flywheel. Builders build apps and markets, bring new demand, and grow the economy with their ingenuity and hard work. In 2026, Base is building the systems that help every builder (human or agent) spin this flywheel faster.

1. Upgrade the chain for agents: agent-native smart accounts, docs, & CLI+MCP access and standards like x402 to help agents do anything with money in a fast, easy, trusted way

2. Grow a based builder community: Base Batches, builder councils, and ecosystem programs that help the best teams and builders find their footing, get funded, and build scalable businesses.

3. Measure, incentivize, and grow the economy: ERC-8021 builder codes, analytics dashboards, liquidity incentives, and growth programs that reward those who bring more users and volume.
